Have you wondered about where we find the information for the biographies and prayers on our site?
Most of our research comes from online sources - encyclopedias, biographies written by churches and schools named after the particular Saint, historical documents, excerpts from theological works, and more. We also find information in our own collection of books on iconography, and compilations of traditional stories such as the Golden Legend.
The prayers take much more thought and planning. While each Saint has their own individual things they’re patrons of, sometimes, another piece of their story stands out to me even more: sometimes an emotion, and experience, or a role they lived through that I think is relatable and a common reason for prayers. I make sure each saint’s prayer focuses on something different than the others’, that they are honest and open, and that they are understandable to a person of any faith background.
You can find all the prayers for each Saint both on their page on our website and also in the highlights on our Instagram under “prayers” and “more prayers”, posted on their feast days throughout the year.
